Ideal for duct cleaning and compliant with TR19 and BS EN 15780:2011 (ventilation for buildings). The Variflow Air Sampling Pump from Airbox Sampling Products carries out EVT sampling to measure surface deposits of dust within ductwork and is the most suitable method for post-cleaning verification for all HVAC systems and ductwork. EVT capsules are not included and are sold separately.
Airbox Sampling Products – Variflow Air Sampling Pump
The duct cleanliness Variflow Air Sampling Pump comes with a flow meter, shoulder strap, battery charger, and magnetic template. The 10 x 10cm magnetic template for EVT testing method is supplied in accordance with TR19 and BSEN15780, and it is flexible to allow easy use in circular ductwork. The shoulder strap facilitates easy use when working from a ladder and makes carrying the pump easier. The Variflow Air Sampling Pump contains lithium-ion batteries which deliver consistent power, ensuring that pump performance does not drop off as the battery level decreases.
The preferred air sampling method is advised in BS15780 as well as TR19 as the most suitable method for post-clean verification of HVAC systems. The pump is used to perform preferred air sampling tests with an air sampling capsule. The capsule is then sent to an independent laboratory for weighing and analysis. Capsules are sold separately from the Variflow Air Sampling Pump. Air sampling is also used for HVAC system inspection to assess whether cleaning is required. All capsules should be sent off to a laboratory along with an analysis request form that will detail the project details for the laboratory.
The flow meter supplied with the duct cleanliness Variflow Air Sampling Pump should be used to calibrate the pump before each use. To comply with the BS15780 testing procedure, the pump should draw 15L/min of air through the EVT capsule. The testing procedure is detailed in the BS15780 standard, which is available for purchase from BSI here.
