What is Aeroseal?

Aeroseal is a technology used to fix and stop leaking ducts in an effective and affordable way. It is a more innovative way of tackling duct leaks than traditional, labour intensive methods as the majority of the work is controlled by computer, plus this method can seal the most inaccessible leaks. Aeroseal involves conducting thorough tests to diagnose the duct system at the beginning and at the end of the process to measure the amount of leakage in the ductwork before sealing, and compare it to the end result which can be seen instantly via the computer.  

Aeroseal works by sealing the ducts from the inside out. The duct system is leakage tested by positively pressurising the duct, this calculates the total size of the holes in the duct in cm2 and the leakage in l/s.  Sealing of the duct can then begin. A polymer is injected into the ductwork and this then seeks out holes and gaps, the polymers stick to the edges of the gaps one after another until the gap is closed.   

The process is carried out until ductwork leakage is at the desired level, it is possible to seal to 0% leakage, but usually sealing is only needed to comply with DW144 classes A, B, C or D.
